A 7-day Morocco train itinerary works best when you stop trying to carry everything everywhere. The train network connects the main cities well, but your best travel days are the ones where you store bags between check-out, sightseeing, and departure.
This route starts in Tangier and ends in Marrakech, but you can reverse it depending on flights.
Arrive by ferry, train, or flight. Stay near the Kasbah, marina, or city center. If you arrive early, store luggage near Tanger Ville or the center before exploring the old medina and waterfront.
Take Al Boraq toward Rabat. Rabat is calmer than Casablanca and good for a first easy imperial city stop.
Visit:
If hotel check-in is later, store luggage near Rabat Agdal or Rabat Ville.
Take a short train to Casablanca. Focus on Hassan II Mosque, Habous, and Maarif rather than trying to see everything.
Store bags near Casa Voyageurs if you arrive early or near Maarif if you plan cafes and shopping.
Take the train to Marrakech. After arrival, store luggage near the station or Guéliz if your riad check-in is later. Visit Majorelle, Guéliz, or Menara first, then enter the Medina with only a small bag.
Spend a full day in the Medina:
Keep luggage at your hotel or storage point. Do not carry a rolling suitcase in the souks.
This is the longest train day. Pack snacks, water, and a light layer. Keep valuables in a small bag at your seat. On arrival, take a taxi to the nearest medina gate or store luggage before meeting your riad.
Visit Bab Boujloud, Bou Inania, Nejjarine, Seffarine, and the tanneries. If you leave by evening train or flight, store bags first and visit with a small daypack.
Bring one manageable suitcase or backpack per person. Use storage on arrival days, check-out days, and medina days. The itinerary becomes lighter, faster, and much more enjoyable.
